The typical symptoms of Powerstroke ECM failure are Wait To Start light staying on, No Start, No Communication, P0601, P0606, P0607 codes stored, rough idle, blowing smoke, hard start, start and die. Commons causes of ECM failure are the charging system (batteries, alternator) issues, low voltage can damage ECMs, voltage spikes, lightning strikes, wiring harness damage (often from years of shaking engine grinding the insulation at the mounts and clips), water damage (location of ECM and IDM led themselves to water exposure).
Be sure the vehicle is repaired before install. Batteries must be new or fully charged before install. Do not install while a trickle charge is engaged. PIC IS FOR ID ONLY
