These computers are often damaged as a result of a faulty Idle Control Valve (IAC) or in some cases, a broken Motor Mount when an electric hydraulic motor mount leaks onto the wiring harness and compromises it. IAC failures will usually coincide with diagnostic scanning MIL CEL P0505. This will confirm your ECM has internal damage.

Common symptoms due to ECM failure:

- No Start, Hard Start, Engine Stalls

- Rough Idle, High Idle, or Idle Up and Down

- No Communication With Computer

- Check Engine Trouble Codes For Idle Control Valve (IACV)

- Replacing IAC Does Not Fix The Problem

PLEASE NOTE: Be sure the vehicle is repaired before install of the ECM. The IAC must be replaced and we recommend using OEM. The TPS Throttle Position Sensor must be checked and tested and may require replacing with OEM. Be sure to check harness and mounting harness locations for moisture and brittle wires. This is an indication of damage to the wiring harness. Be sure the pigtail/harness is checked at the IAC valve for damage.
